My son is very hard to please at times but when I came home with this toy he really liked it he could not wait for me to take it out the box and when I did he was gone on his own little way overall we both like the toy.

This is a very cute toy, but "cute" is about all you get, for the money. I have NO IDEA how this toy could be intended for a 6-12mth old. My 4 1/2 year old daughter loves pigs and was obsessed with this one, after seeing it in the Fisher-Price catalog. We weren't going to get it for her, since it was so far behind her age range, but her grandfather ended up giving it to her as a Christmas gift.
Well, she was thrilled, but the insane part is...she cannot play with it, alone. Our very strong 4 1/2 year old cannot open the little door on the side of the pig. Even my husband and I were surprised when we had to brace it against one leg and really PULL, to get it open. And this was intended for a six month old???

So, the 4 1/2 year old finds one of us, asks for the pig to be opened, takes the money out and puts it back in once, then puts the pig away. We have two other children, which the pig should be better suited for - a six month old daughter and a two year old son. Neither of them is interested in even looking at this toy, so I have no idea what age this toy would actually entertain.
Even at only about [$...]or so, this one's definitely a waste of money. There are much, MUCH better toys out there.

Great toy to learn the value of money. Or at least the existance of money other then eating or chewing on coins it goes in the pigs belly.

I am pretty tired of toys that look cute but don't teach much. The only thing this teaches is numbers. Everytime you drop in a coin, the switch in the coin slot reacts and the pig counts the next consecutive number.

The bank could have been a lot more educational, if it could recognize different coin values (there are 3 different size coins) or colors (there are 4 colors). Instead, each coin simply makes the pig count up one number.

So this toy doesn't really teach colors at all. I'd say a (non-electronic) pack of crayons teaches more about colors than this toy.

If you lose a coin, the pig won't be able to count to 10 unless you remove and re-insert a coin. besides number counting, the only other features are fluff: an Old MacDonald song that advances a few notes with each coin and a handful of pig related speech when the nose is pressed.

On the plus side, this toy has survived a handful of falls from the high chair.

My son just turned three and received this toy as a present. I thought it would be good because it would help him understand money. However, he lost interest in the toy after playing with it for only one day.
