THIS LOUPE/MAGNIFIER CAN BE USED FOR BOTH 10X POWER AND 20X MAGNIFICATION BUT SACRIFICES THE NORMALLY EXPECTED SIZE FOR EITHER LOUPE TO DO SO. IT IS A HANDY ITEM TO HAVE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO CARRY TWO DIFFERENT LOUPES AROUND WITH YOU AND IT IS A HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCT. YOU STILL MIGHT DESIRE A SEPARATE 30X LOUPE.

Esta lupa es excelente. La uso para examinar monedas en detalle y es muy cómoda de manipular. Se puede replegar dentro de sí misma para su transporte, pero el fabricante debería proveer un estuche adicional para llevarla. Viene en una caja de plástico, pero no es práctica para transportarla (aunque cabe perfectamente en la mano o en un bolsillo).

Another review of this item recommends that you buy a 10x loupe that is 10x the cost. Probably good advice if you are going to use it constantly. But for occasional use (I need it for one-off examination of coins), this is a much better buy. It is very basic but the optics are clear, which is all that matters. Construction seems to be good enough. One review complains that it’s like something out of a gum machine. For the price that’s about all you should expect, but it in truth far better, so I rate it a five for function and value.

I always wanted a B&L magnifier since I was a kid interested in minerology. At 55, this is good for my elder eyesight doing inspections. You cannot use it wearing glasses. It is small…the 30X is better. If you leave it on the job, you can afford to lose it and replace…vendor price with shipping is excellent.
