No. Don’t buy this toy if you had opted for an uncommon name for you little loved one. It cannot learn any name at all, this is a false advertising!! What it does, and you gonna find it out only after you have bought it, is that leapfrog’s website gives you a list of most common names, so, if your baby’s name is John or Mary, that’s Ok to go ahead, but try to find on their poor list your especial chosen baby’s name… Nope! Before you start to feel your self frustrated, you gonna try a second Leapfrog’s option, pick up a name that sounds almost like the same of your baby. But, hold on, and how about “I can learn your name?”… Do you want you baby learning a different name that could sounds almost like the same? Oh yeah, even if that second option doesn’t work for you, you still have a third option! Pick up a nickname in other leapfrog’s list! Yes!! But if your family, loving and caring baby’s nickname is not in there.. Uh oh, then you gonna feel your self fooled. totally fooled. Of course, you can send to LeapFrog your especial babys’s name, for future updates… But read what they sent back to me: LeapFrog is under no obligation to update the My Pals Violet and Scout name list nor include any submitted name to any updates. Currently we have no plans to add new names to the list.

I bought this for Christmas for my 20 month old daughter, as an afterthought. It was one of the last gifts I bought and I am so happy I did. I rarely write reviews on Amazon (or on anything for that matter), but I love this toy so much and so does my daughter. She knows how to play the lullabies at night to fall asleep. Tonight she fell asleep while cuddling Violet! It is so sweet. Could not recommend this toy more!

We bought Violet as a gift for our six month old daughter. We were thrilled to find her name, Adelyn, on the list after we plugged the dog into the computer! She can quite press the buttons yet, but her two-year-old brother loves the songs and the yawn before bedtime music starts!

My Pal Violet is such a great toy. I bought it for my 6 month old and she loves to listen to it and also watch the collar light blink. I love that it can be customized to my daughter and can be changed whenever I please. It was really easy to set up as well. There was a good selection of songs, however I would have liked to see more to choose from. I imagine as it’s around longer there will be more eventually.
